Lower Years (Ages 7–11) at Wood School Bali

Program Pendidikan Dasar Bali: Learning with Joy, Values & Real-Life Connection

At this age, children are full of questions and ready to engage with the world around them. Families seeking a primary school alternative in Bali discover that our Lower Years program combines solid reading, writing, and maths with emotional intelligence, ecological awareness, and values-based learning. It's a place where imagination meets purpose through nature-rich learning and project-based education.

What Makes Our Lower Years Different?

The Basics, Taught through Story

Real-world math through games and budgeting is integrated into our Lower Years program, providing students with hands-on experience. We utilize nature as the science lab, promoting nature-rich learning that encourages exploration and discovery. Additionally, our curriculum includes reading through myth, history, and diverse world stories, all part of our project-based education approach.

Values In Action

In our Lower Years program, we engage in weekly moral storytelling and reflection circles that foster nature-rich learning. Through compassionate discipline and shared agreements, we enhance emotional vocabulary, empathy, and teamwork, all within a project-based education framework.

Hands-on Environmental Learning

In our Lower Years program, students engage in nature-rich learning through activities such as animal care, composting, and gardening. They explore traditional Balinese crafts and ecological traditions while participating in project-based education focused on the water cycle and food chain projects on campus.

Life Skills & Creativity

The Lower Years program emphasizes financial literacy through engaging market days and collaborative group projects. Nature-rich learning is enhanced with arts, crafts, music, and movement integrated into daily education. Presentations and mini-exhibitions foster confidence in students, reinforcing the principles of project-based education.
