Our alternative school takes a unique approach to learning.
We focus on embracing the highest consciousness and opening and expanding the mind. We believe in social equality and rationality, and our teachings reflect these values and is guided by Yama and Niyama as moral conduct.
All academic subjects are in accordance with international standards. We offer the option of Indonesian National Certification (possible in English as well as Bahasa Indonesia), as well as national student identification numbers, for children who require this.
Problem-Solving with interdisciplinary Mathematics, English & Language Arts, Social Sciences, Indonesian Language, Morning Circle (structured time for spiritual practice), Environmental Science, Arts and Crafts/Fine Arts and Performing Arts make up the curriculum.
We run our Social Science curriculum through themes based on cultures from around the world or phenomena based topics. Children perform dances, songs, and uplifting plays at the end of every term as a way to showcase what they have learned and rehearsed all term. Through this approach, we are able to not only educate students academically, but also in terms of social and cultural awareness, as well as creativity and expression.
We take all the local wisdoms, dress, music, songs and traditions, yet remain open to the equal wisdoms of all cultures. We delve more into these though the themes each term. In the past the children have explored cultural wisdoms from places such as India, South America, Egypt and most recently the United Kingdom, to name a few. We integrate what we take from these cultures rich diversities with our unique and beautiful local Balinese culture as well as Indonesian culture.
